he then will criticize, comments, and give correction...
it has been like that i really learned a lot..
for this weekend sermon, i did the same thing...
then i got this phrase from him...
"it looks like you going more eisegesis rather than exegesis.."
i was like 'huh?' what's that?
i heard exegesis before, it means drawing out the meaning from the text..
eisegesis? hmm... so i did a search...
well, wikipedia has answer.. very long one...
the basic explanation is "reading in the text" i.e. introducing own ideas...
rather than drawing out meaning, it's the opposite...
aiyo, serious...
personally i think it's dangerous and i don't wish to go into it...
because it will soon be like heresy, false teacher..
wah, i must be careful...
this is the reason why Christians needs to have proper input...
from church - good and biblical teaching from those who study the words...
from cell - a good discussion with other Christians will help to give holistic perspective...
from mentor - pointing out the fundamental truth
from mature Christians who love God - the years of experience will give good direction...
God gives grace to the humble...
when we humble ourselves to learn, we will always improve...
when we are willing to listen, we will become wise...
I am learning...
